Fishing is obviously a common activity on an island like Coll. Surrounded by crystal clear atlantic water, fish rarely tastes so good, especially mackeral when it is just out of the sea.
Sea fishing can be rewarding from many of the rocks around the island and from the main pier where the ferry docks.
Inland you may find fish stocked lochans although many are private, so it is always advisable to ask first. It is also advisable to ensure (ask the R.S.P.B. warden) about breeding birds too, as many lochans have rare species that don't like to be disturbed.
